Fogging Systems for Greenhouse Cooling
February 10th, 2010 by admin
The main factor in greenhouse cooling is the creation of relative humidity. Fogging systems are one way of achieving this goal. During hot weather, these systems can effectively cool a greenhouse by 10oC. These systems use nozzles to produce micro drops of water which evaporates before it hits the plants. The nozzles and fog pressure lines must be properly cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. Failure to do so can result in insufficient cooling and unnecessary wetness of the plants and their leaves. This, in turn, could ruin an entire crop due to poor quality produce, and increase the chance of unwanted insects and diseases.
