Woodworking is a way to get away from all of the stresses we encounter in our day-to-day lives. There were many times my dad, a physicist, would retreat into his garage after dinner to just get some time for himself and work on a roll-top desk for my mom or a dollhouse for one of us kids. His woodworking supplies were all neatly organized and after he had spent some time alone he was always willing to let us come out to the garage and mess around with the wood scraps and make a project of our own. I know my dad’s time in the garage has meant being able to perform better as an employee at work and a husband and father at home.
