Ben was asleep on the couch. He had dozed off for several minutes. It was the fire alarm that had awakened him. He was still groggy when he found the smoke coming from the kitchen. He didn’t see any large flames so he went to investigate. The smoke was coming from his Elektra espresso machine. He had been using it earlier to make his coffee and now it was on fire. He must have left it on and had forgotten about it. Ben grabbed the fire extinguisher by the kitchen door and put out the fire. Then he deactivated the fire alarm. The espresso machine was now useless. He needed to replace it.
