Sources Of Soluble Fiber
February 6th, 2008 by admin
Did you know that coffee has soluble fiber in it? It actually has a reasonable amount, compared to the amount you should be having every day. And taking into account the amount of coffee that many people drink.
Even instant coffee has soluble fiber in it. Maybe they should put that in the Nescafe ad. It would sure beat some of the ads they’ve made. Funnily enough, the way coffee is prepared has an impact on how much soluble fiber you get in it. I think French pressed coffee isn’t a good source of soluble fiber, but espresso style coffee is.
Of course, coffee is not the only source of soluble fiber (it sure is a good excuse to drink more of it though). The best sources of soluble fiber are actually fruits and vegetables. They have a lot. Even fresh fruit and vegetable juices have soluble fiber in them. And in fruit and vegetables, you get all those enzymes and vitamins and minerals. You don’t get that in coffee.
Still, it’s good to know that some people get some soluble fiber in their diet, even if they don’t eat well.
