Infrared Saunas Less Dangerous than Traditional
November 4th, 2009 by admin
The vision of a sauna disgusts me. I think it’s a breeding ground for bacteria, not hot enough to kill them, just hot enough for them to thrive. I picture butt cells getting all over my towel. But if you’re still inclined to use a sauna for “detoxification” it seems that these new infrared sauna heaters are less dangerous. They heat you deeper, but at a lower temperature. So you’re still sweating but you can handle it better. I have been seeing that infrared saunas are used now to reduce swelling in rheumatoid arthritis patients, but these results weren’t significant. If you’ve studied studies you know that “non-significant” means that the results were almost the same as placebo. So don’t trust those statements.
