Why I don’t check job listings anymore

I used to be like everyone else — when I needed to find work, I would cruise page after page of job listings, both in print and online. After a while I decided to give that up. Why? Simply because I was doing what everyone else was — and I needed to find a way to break free from the pack — a way to market myself that was unique. So I decided to hire a professional placement service. Now they do all the work for me, and I am only contacted when there is a serious offer available from a very prestigious company.
