Efficient time management: where does your time go?

I always tell my clients that one of the most important factors of efficient time management is to know exactly how you spend your time. This may seem like a strange idea but most people are surprised when they look at exactly how they spend their time. For this reason I recommend a time-log as an essential part of good time management. All you need to do is take note of how your time is spent each day. Many people feel that time-logs are a waste of time but I assure you they are not, and you only have to do it for a week or two to get an accurate picture of how you spend your time. Once you have kept your time-log for a couple of weeks you will be able to see were your time is and isn’t spent effectively, which will allow you to better manage your time in the future.
