Comics in Math

April 23rd, 2008 by admin

This past year, I had one young man who was not particularly excited to do math. I would always catch him reading his comic books, which of course then led to consequences for not paying attention. The best day was when he actually put on a pair of 3D glasses during glass and proceeded to read his comics. When I saw him, he looked so ridiculous that I could not help but laugh! He later apologized, telling me that he was so excited about his new 3D comic book that he just could not wait to read it. We agreed that he would prepare a report to the class explaining how 3D images can be seen using the glasses. For a kid who was not all that thrilled about doing his work, he definitely rose to the occasion!
