Modern cars burn millions and millions of tons of oil each year, resulting in tons of carbon dioxide and other gases that are the main causes of global warming. The primary goal is to produce fewer emissions, which not only are harmful to the air we breathe, but are also screwing up the planet in general. Another major goal is to reduce our dependence on oil, which is rapidly being depleted, partially resulting in unfathomable price hikes. The term hybrid car, such as the BMW hybrid car, is used to describe a car which can use both gasoline and electricity as fuel.
